Class of 1883 Class Day Box

Scope and Contents: This collection contains a time capsule the Class of 1883 created of material that was pertinent to their class or symbolic of their times. The Class of 1883 buried the Class Day Box on campus and then dug it up at their 50th reunion in 1933. At the reunion, the Class of 1883 added newspapers, programs, and other memorabilia to the time capsule. This collection includes class manuscripts, programs, newspapers and a school publication, photographs, coins, a report, and a course catalog.

Faculty and Senior Class Photograph Yearbooks Collection

Scope and Contents: These 45 photograph albums contain images of Tufts University faculty and graduating classes from 1858-1898. Graduating students could order which images they wanted to have included and thus volumes from the same year might contain different photographs. Here and There at Tufts

Scope and Contents: This collection consists of the physical edition of Here and There at Tufts from 1907 along with digital representations of several of its pages. This is a yearbook-like publication written by students from the Class of 1909. It was dedicated to William Rollin Shipman.

Medical Prescriptions Ledger

Scope and Contents: This collection consists of one oversize ledger including prescriptions by various local doctors and pharmacists, largely from West Somerville but also including Cambridge. They are glued into the oversize ledger. It is currently unknown why a central ledger was kept that tracked prescriptions by various doctors and pharmacies by consecutive numbers.

Senior Honors Theses

Scope and Contents: The collection is made up of theses written by undergraduate students from various departments as part of the requirements for honors in their department. All students are asked to deposit copies of their theses in the archives, but not all do so, therefore the collection is incomplete. The earliest thesis dates from 1929, but most date from the 1960s onward.

Some theses may be under an embargo and not available online until the end of the embargo period.

Tuftonian

Scope and Contents: This collection contains bound volumes of the literary magazine from 1874 to 1965. The "Collegian" and later the "Tuftonian" contain literary works written by Tufts students, including poetry, essays, short fiction, and, in later years, drawings and photographs.
