Scope and Contents

This collection contains the working papers, talking points, summary notes, meeting agendas and minutes, correspondence, photographs, and draft agreements relating to the economic issues Laura James worked on as part of the African Union High-Level Implementation panel on Sudan (AUHIP) primarily between 2010 and 2013. These records were often created in coordination with other members of the AUHIP panel to facilitate mediation efforts. Specific topics reviewed by Laura James included oil, international debt, currency and banking.

Biographical / Historical

Laura James is an economic expert and Middle East analyst specializing in Egypt and Sudan. She received a doctorate in International Relations from the University of Oxford and works as the Economic Adviser to the Assessment and Evaluation Commission supporting the peace agreement in Sudan. James is also a member of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel.

This collection is organized into one series.

Custodial History

This collection was transferred from Laura on a thumb drive to the World Peace Foundation. The DCA copied the files from the World Peace Foundation's network drive to our facilities for archival management.

This collection was part of a series of collections the World Peace Foundation collected as part of their grant "Documentation, Research and Writing on the African Union High Level Implementation Panel for Sudan" funded by the United States Institute of Peace.

Processing Information

This collection was processed in the summer of 2013 by Massaab al-Aloosy, Fletcher student and supervised by Erin Faulder, Archivist for Digital Collections. Due to the access restrictions, it was decided not to do any item-level description on the items. A spreadsheet included with the digital files details basic file control and dates and titles for a few items.
