Scope and Contents

This collection, donated by Mark Pokras, contains digital and paper records dating related to the Wild Bird Pathology Database from 2006 to 2011. The digital files include spreadsheets, images from the Mark Pokras dead bird collection, a database, application code, an XML website, and the data dictionary. The paper records consists of another copy of the data dictionary, dated 2011, which brings together the appendices of the database, and includes lists of bird classification web resources, descriptions of the relational database, and definitions of database elements and attributes.

Biographical / Historical

Mark Pokras (c. 1950- ) is Assistant Professor at the Cummings School of Medicine, Tufts University, where he specializes in functional and surgical anatomy of birds and reptiles, environmental pathology, and wildlife health. Pokras received his BS from Cornell in 1971 and his DVM from Tufts in 1984.
