This collection contains photographs circa 1840 -- 1930 given to Tufts University by alumnus Walter F. (W. F.) Welch. Most are portraits of Native Americans, but other subjects include Jack and Charmian London and Theodore Dreiser. Many of the photographs in this collection were listed by Welch under the heading “Western Americana.”
