Biographical / Historical
The Institute for Global Leadership (IGL) at Tufts University is an interdisciplinary learning center devoted to educating, training, and preparing students for global leadership. The Institute was founded in 1999, although many of its programs - such as EPIIC (1985) and Inquiry (1992) - were established earlier in the Tufts Experimental College by IGL Founding Director Sherman Teichman. IGL is known for its Education for Public Inquiry and International Citizenship (EPIIC) colloquium, symposium, and workshops. Other programs include: INQUIRY, a global issues simulation program for high school students; the Program for Narrative and Documentary Practice (PNDP); and international exchanges such as the Tufts Initiative for International Leadership and Perspective (TILIP).
