Scope and Contents
This collection contains office files and exhibit files of the Tufts University Art Gallery, including: grant files, foundation files, contracts, other financial information; MFA thesis and museum studies files; subject files; and loans and condition reports. The exhibit files contain slides and photographs. There are also two boxes containing mostly VHS tapes of exhibition videos and educational films, as well as unmarked VHS tapes. One of these boxes contains 2 Umatic cassettes of “A Day in Warsaw” from the International center for Jewish Film, dated 1991 and 1992 respectively.

Biographical / Historical
The Tufts University Art Gallery animates the intellectual life of the greater university community through exhibitions and programs exploring new, global perspectives on art and on art discourse. The Tufts University Art Gallery's exhibition space consists of the Tisch and Koppelman Galleries, the Remis Sculpture Court, a projection wall for short video and film works, and the Slater Concourse Gallery (Tufts' community gallery).

Processing Information
2017 accessions were processed by Records and Accessioning Archivist Leah Edelman in 2017. Materials were placed in archival boxes if the orignal housing was damaged, and loose materials were placed in folders where needed. Received order was maintained. A file-level inventory and series-level description were created and the finding aid was updated at the time of processing. 2019 accessions of digital materials were processed by Digital Archivist Margaret Peachy in 2019. A file-level inventory and series-level description were created and the finding aid was updated at the time of processing. 2023 accessions were processed in August 2023 by Kate McNally, Records and Accessioning Archivist. Received order was maintained. Folder- and series-level description were created, and the finding aid updated, at the time of processing.
